My Mind
Why is the Things I have to Do Before Heading Back to Nepal list getting LONGER?Just over two weeks before I leave and here is an insight into my mind.In a previous life, I was an organised, reasonably efficient, goal setting, focussed person. I had filing cabinets and knew where things were.It would appear that creative nomads have those expandable file boxes and forget where they put them. But when they find them, their hearts sings because they are beaded and beautifuly colour coordinatedl! And I am learning about the different time management I do in this new life! The magnificent Luann Udell has written about this here and here and on many other occasions but I do suspect she is less distractible than I seem to have become. The vibrant Hmong fabric and pom poms lay innocently on a shelf for weeks and then when life got busy, they became insistent. Years ago, I purchased the jade jacket from an Op Shop for $15. It got misplaced in all the moves prior to the Nepal stint and was only rediscovered a few days ago. So why, when there are so many other things to do, did the 36 Kulshimumkin Pom poms have to be stitiched on the very old Jacket this week? No reason, but it was relaxing as MJM and I chatted one night. And then one thing led to another, and four more have to be done now projects, and you all know how it goes. But I am THRILLED (as only a rank non- seamstress can be) with the results. Loving myself sick as we say. The gorgeous Kai from KulshiMumkin sells the fabric and pom poms. I am in love.Ongoing papier mache bust making, books, plans for Nepal training, and mixing more colour samples to take over. And then, in my down time, I decided to play with the Welker Retro Pixelated Cane and some of those left over mixed colour samples and HAD A BALL!!! I'll do a post on that later but once again, one thing led to another and before I knew it had my Springtime in Outback Wyman Lane landscape incorporated into jewellery. You can see glimpses of it in the photo...all saltbush, native dock and Salvation Jane inspired. You can also see a retro pixelated woman needing a head but I have a feeling she'll be waiting. I do have priorities. But will you just look at this wonderful woman from the Rock Garden at Chandigarh? I wonder....
